How to photograph your cat for a custom plush
You do not need a studio portrait to order cat plushies made from your own cat’s photos. You need a small set of images that makes the important details readable. A beautiful photo can hide an ear or the tail; a plain side view may explain much more.
Build a reference set without upsetting your cat
Use pictures you already have, then add missing angles only if your cat is comfortable. Capture a front view, left and right profiles, the back and a full-body image. Photograph at your cat’s eye level when practical. Do not restrain your cat or force a pose just for the order.
Separate color references from pose references
A curled-up sleeping photo can describe the pose but hide the underside. A standing photo can show leg length and markings. Label in the notes which picture should guide the pose and which should guide the color. Avoid beauty filters, strong colored lamps and screenshots that lose detail.
Show features that are easy to miss
Add a close-up of a split-color nose, white chin, uneven socks, tail tip or a distinctive ear shape. Describe whether a collar is part of the requested appearance. Do not assume that a marking on one side appears on the other.
Upload requirements and optional video
The local form accepts 3–12 JPG, PNG or WebP images, up to 5 MB each. An optional MP4, WebM or MOV video can show posture and tail carriage; it does not replace the required still images. Keep video below 30 MB and your complete reference set around 60 MB or less.
If you only have older photographs
Send the clearest originals available and explain which areas are not visible. Do not invent unseen details. The intended interpretation and any uncertainty need discussion before a real paid order.
